About

SUKHA YOGA
Sukha’s approach to Yoga is based on these definitions of Yoga:

Yogah samatvam uchyate – Yoga is equanimity
Yogah Karmasu Kaushalam- Yoga is excellence in action

We believe a yogic approach to simple things can transform your life. For example, you do not have to suppress your displeasure. Find a pleasant way to communicate it. When you take up a task, put in your best effort without obsessing over the result.

Why choose Sukha Yoga ?

We are all at different stages of our Yoga journey. Our physical, physiological and psychological needs are different and to become aware of those needs is the first step. Here is where Sukha Yoga & Wellness comes in and gladly so ! We are here to guide you through your journey of Yoga and identify a practice that suits you and your lifestyle best. You can do a lot or just a little, as much as you are ready for, but consistently and that makes all the difference. We are excited to be part of your journey !

Sanjana Prasad
Yoga has been a part of Sanjana’s life from a young age. Her serious and more consistent practice began during her career switch from Goldman Sachs to professional dance training.

A Bharatanatyam dancer with over 20 years of experience, Sanjana’s Yoga practice primarily complimented her dance training. After a year long training in Contemporary dance at Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts, Bangalore, Sanjana did her first Yoga
Teacher training Program to become more independent in her own practice. And there was no looking back.
Through her training and study she realised teaching was her true calling.

FAQ

Know that you have arrived at the right space, if you are looking for a holistic approach to Yoga and a comprehensive wellness experience.

Sukha - authentic ,everlasting happiness.

We are all in search of happiness. Little do we realize that happiness is already with us, within us.. Unlike the fleeting moments of joy that depend on other people or circumstances this HAPPINESS is free, abundant and always at our disposal.
The practice of Yoga gives you the opportunity to recognize and connect with this happiness.
So, what is Yoga ?

Yoga ,from ‘yuj’ the Sanskrit root word for ‘union’ is one of the 6 Vedic philosophies. There are numerous definitions for Yoga in different texts and multiple paths or Margas.

Traditional Yoga was taught and studied with the ultimate goal of Self- realization also called Moksha. It was not limited to one text or just Asana and Pranayama. The study was diverse and extensive. The practice was lived and experienced. Yogis spent their lives immersed in this journey to the true Self.

Modern Yoga, although largely based on traditional Yoga, is different.
We live in a society that requires us to play many roles and actively take part in the rat race that world is. The goal of self-realization is quite an intense stretch for a lot of us (pun intended). The Yoga we practice now mostly has a fitness & wellness goal. Which is not wrong, mind you. However we cannot completely ignore the roots of the practice. What we can do is strike a balance between the reality of the world we live in and our Yoga journey, and make conscious effort to live the practice off the mat as well.
